speeding ticket #2

Follow up for this speeding ticket

Case got dismissed.

Ken: 2 - Law Enforcement: 0. :D

Now to wait for my bail money in the mail. I think I'll throw that money onto stocks too.

burnt out.

|

It's usually around this time of the quarter when I suddenly lose all momentum; when I just feel like doing absolutely nothing but sleep and simple tasks.

All the small huddles suddenly became giant walls in the final stretch. Instead of pushing through, it just feels like I'm floating around.

It's not like I'm stressed either.

I think I'm just ready to relax and have some fun, but before that I need to get through these last two weeks.

memorial weekend!

I moved all the non-essential stuff outta my dorms today. It wasn't too tough, seeing how I didn't bring much with me to school, so I really didn't have much to bring back. So the only things I have left with me in the dorms are (this can serve as a move out checklist for me too)

-Desk stuff: pens, paper, light, laptop, textbooks, computer cables, power surge, stapler, small bamboo plant.
-Bed stuff: blanket (brought one back), bedsheets, pillow, pillow, mike.
-Clothes
-Fridge
-Alcohol+shotglasses

Then I realized there were stuff I should have brought back, like my heavier jackets, ties, fuzzy boots, kite.

My larger bamboo planet is easily the worst passenger ever. I just stuck the vase with water still inside into my passenger seat, and made it wear a seat belt. The seat belt works great when I'm slowing down, it doesn't do anything when I'm not going in a straight line. So I pretty much spent my whole drive home with a hand holding onto the plant so it wouldn't spill over.

It was nice seeing everyone again. It was also nice having good chinese food. It's kind of sad how the next time we do something like this is probably the next major holiday everyone's available, so either Thanksgiving, or during winter break. So long, but not goodbye.

I also went shopping! I love holiday shopping. I seem to have less and less time for stuff like that these days. College makes me one insanely busy person. I need more long weekends like this one.

ringtones!

|

A lighthearted post.. cause it's been a while.

So a few people who call me often have their own ringtone (or video ringtone) on my phone, and is usually pretty unique to that person.

Family (mom, dad, sister, house): MGS - codec

Basicly, this sounds just like, ring ring.. ring ring.. ring ring. Yeah. They complain how they have a boring ringtone. Then again, every time I hear ring ring.. there's somebody on the other line with new orders.

Eric Lee: (video ringtone) SNSD - Gee MV

Ridiculous SNSD fan gets annoying "gee gee gee gee baby baby baby" tone with dancing girls too! So, I can either pick up really really fast, or hit the "send busy tone" button really really fast to keep them from singing too long. They get annoying, fast, but it's the only thing they have that I moderately like though. Oh, and he shares this ringtone with Paulina, cept she never calls me.

Clarice Chang: (video ringtone) DBSK - Hahaha song (second version)

DBSK fangirl gets super noisy silly ringtone. Yeah, it grabs my attention fast, and Yunho is fun to watch. So, when I'm sad, just call Clarice? maybe. :P

Connie Lin: Tank - 鬥牛, 要不要

She made me try to learn to sing that song. That song is hard to sing. It's not a video ringtone cause the beginning of the MV is boring... and I'm too lazy to make it into one.

Jono Lee: Ocean Lab - Satalite

The first few notes actually make it sound like any other ringtone, cause.. most ringtones are technoy. Oh, and he does happen to be half a world away right now.. in cowland.

Mike Hsieh: Super Junior - It's You

Before this song came out, it used to be "Why I like you". That song had a nice beat to it. Then one day I read the lyrics and was like, oh, well, Mike does make me happy when he calls. OK.

Then I changed it to "It's You" cause it's newer, and it also has a nice beat to it. Then I read the lyrics for that, and um... I feel like a creeper. Haha.

Then everyone else gets "Those who Fight (Piano-FF7AC Version)" cause it makes an awesome ringtone.

Now accepting personal ringtone requests! Holla if you got one in mind.

Oh, in case you didn't notice, I made youtube links for references!

my first weekend back spring quarter 09

|

I've been trying very very hard to stay ahead in my work, up the point where people thought I was a little bit weird; cause seriously, who finishes work a week in advance?

Well the plus side it that it kept me extremely stress free, working at a super slow pace. But why bother getting a week ahead in work? You only need to be a day or two ahead to go out and party. Well, I wanted to go home, and since I never really get any work done at home, and books are heavy, and I actually had stuff I needed to do at home, so.. yeah, came home completely homework burden free.

First major thing I had to help take care of: our tenant is moving to NY, and the rest of the people aren't staying either. So we had to clean the house and start scouting out damages and areas of repair. Letting a bunch of recent college graduates live in a house for 7 years without ever maintaining does a lot to a house.

Basically, the house was filthy, with everything breaking, needing replacement, or repair.

Well, apparently these guys had a habit of using the garage as a warehouse (doesn't everyone?). Then they tended to move out without taking all their stuff with them. So there's a good several years of junk in there, and the last tenant needed to get rid of all of it. He tried the garage sale method last weekend, selling everything for 25 cents. Didn't work. So today when we came, he just told us if we saw anything we wanted in there we could keep it.

So me and my sister decided to go through everything. Most of it was just empty cardboard boxes and packaging styrofoam. But then there were also boxes filled with stuff. Found some very interesting stuff in there.. like..

-A Honda Civic tire, just one.
-..and his spare tire, I think
-Checkbooks. Yeah, these people left checkbooks behind.
-A wallet with ID and some money.
-Barbie Dolls. Honestly, WTF? It was always a bunch of guys living here.
-6 inch heels, for like, size 4 feet.
-Clocks. various weird clocks that all had dead batteries or didn't work or something.

So while we were looking through all this stuff, we thought, hey some of this stuff isn't that bad, it's a waste just throwing this away. So we kept some stuff..

-A TI-83+. When we found it, it turned on, so we were like, cool. When we got back home, it didn't work. So after a few battery changes, turns out the little flat disk battery was dead. Well I still had a spare one somewhere (from my first TI-83+ from like 6th grade that I dropped and broke). So after that it worked fine. Cool, now I have 3 graphing calculators (my sister's using one). Original owner probably thought it broke.

-A gamecube controller. Yeah. They probably dropped it in coffee or something, cause it had brown stick stuff all over it and all the buttons were like, stuck. So I rinsed (yes, like, drenched with the sink) it in water and had some fun with compressed air and its perfectly fine. It should work fine when it dries (hope so, if not, eh. oh well). If it does, I finally have a full set of controllers.

-A PS2 controller. Mine broke (Spike slept on it). It works great. Looks better than my old controller too.

-Cologne. Yeah, I'm so cheap I don't buy my own cologne. It was pretty much a full bottle of Nautica Latitude | Longitude. Smells pretty nice. Then I found out it retails for like $80.

-A clip-on wideview rear view mirror. I thought about getting one cause my mirror doens't even display my whole rear windshield. Now with this I can see the entire rear windshield from many many more angles. So my mirror doesn't have to be perfectly adjusted each time.

-Three 1/2" black binders. You never know when they're gonna come in handy, plus, they were practically new.

-Some picture frames. Not sure what my sister is going to do with them. They're probably from IKEA.

-A power extension cord. These things don't really go bad and it's nice to have around.

-A box of paper clips. I just happened to need paper clips.

-A package of tabs. I'm sure these come in handy too.

-A Hawaiian surfer necklace thingy. I always wanted one, but never wanted to buy one. Well.. happy ending.

Well, these guys also left behind some clothes. So we dug through the clothes pile (like 5 big trash bags full of clothes) that was about to get donated. Dug out an Express dress shirt and an AE thermal that fit. Heh.

---

Then there's some other stuff I need to get around to..

The story is, my sister tied my dog to one of the veranda support beams. Doggy runs. Bye bye support beam.

So we just kinda stuck it in there to keep the veranda from falling down completely.

Cause without the beam there, it looks pretty scary..

On closer inspection, it's clearly obvious that it got forcefully ripped out, and it wasn't a loose screw or something.

Yup. Fat doggy breaks stuff (like PS2 controllers and scales).

Now I'm supposed to find a solution to holding it in place that's more permanent than sticking two 60lb concrete blocks around the pillar.

---

I finally brought my wallet pictures home from college, and filled up my last picture frame.

If you're in here you're cool! Camwhore awards go to: Steph, Clarice, and Jono, and Sandra* for bring in 3 of the pictures. :P

Yeah, long update, but... no homework =)

wow lame weekend at sb

|

Wow. I never expected to have a weekend like this, especially so at SB. There are weekends where I chose not to go out cause I have stuff to do, or I know I probably won't have too much fun, but this weekend I went out cause I thought it might be something; it wasn't.

I seriously wanted to go home this weekend, but didn't cause I was supposed to attend an event for a fundraiser. It ended up being postponed.

So I went to a party instead. If I was gonna spend a weekend at SB with no work to do, might as well go out and have some fun. Right?

Friday night was not fun at all. First party had not enough alcohol, not enough girls, and not enough people overall. Not too sure what went wrong cause its normally not that bad. So we went to another party. That had alcohol, but still not enough girls, and not too long after we got there they stopped the music. White people are supposed to throw great parties, oh well.

So when we left I had to drag some pretty drunk people back, cause that's what happens when there's not enough guys, and you're sober. Person with the highest tolerance always ends up taking care of everyone, and I didn't even drink that much.

When we got back, we ran into some CSO troubles, cause they saw me with a bunch of girls, most of which couldn't even walk correctly. So after some questioning, they decided to let us go.

Back in the dorms we ran into RAs. Things got pretty complicated pretty fast, cause they caught unregistered guests that none of us claimed responsibility for. So what might happen is all of us might get called in for a statement. That's tomorrow's problem, not a big problem at that.

Saturday night, after dinner, out on a whim I decided to go watch a show that a few friends were in to show them some support. It was pretty fun cheering for them, and it wasn't that bad of a show. By going, we ended getting the rest of the floor to show up, eventually. Oh, and I got a T-shirt for $3, to help do something in Vietnam, wasn't paying too much attention when they explained what the proceeds would do, all that matters is I got a shirt, and I'm helping someone somewhere, even if I don't exactly know how.

After the performance was the afterparty. It was at the ZΦP house. For one reason or another, I never really seem to have fun there. It was kinda nice going out with people on the floor that normally don't go out, or I normally don't go out with. They seemed to have a good time. It a nice seeing a bunch of people I knew there. But, even less people danced, and the male-female ratio was much worse. The few girls that were there really didn't dance, and when they did, they kinda danced by themselves. It just ended up being a kickback outside. At least some people had fun.

Weekend probably wasn't a total loss, but I've had much better weekends. Going home for sure next weekend for sure. I miss my doggy.
