what i learned at work today

Since today was a pretty slow day at work, I had time to learn a few things.

Shopping carts are super easy to pull with running shoes. I can actually grip the floor, which means I can maneuver them much much better, and pull more of them at once. Cept, this one lady ran in front of my very long train, and I had to stop suddenly, so the carts made a nice little bruise on one finger, and a small cut on the other.

The cashier conveyor belt, the belt where you, the customer, dump your stuff on to bring to the cashier is automatic. It moves by itself until an item comes up to the scanner, then stops. Not fair. The bagging conveyor belt, the one that brings the stuff from the cashier to the me, needs to be turned on and off manually.

Extra plastic bags are kept in the "alcohol room" (wtf?)

The spray bottle with the green liquid is used to clean stuff. There's a blue liquid too. They told me its used the same way. I'm pretty sure ones used for glass and the other for everything else. But hey! if they don't care, I don't either.

They keep feather dusters under the cashiers. So I asked what do I dust with these dusters. They told me, "anything." So, I dusted the phone and the top of the screen, then I sneezed, so then they said, "see, that's why you never see them."

When they say "Fresh at 5pm or it's free," they really mean its fresh or its free. They smell nice when its fresh.

The sink in the deli is operated using the knee. Yeah, the knee. I probably stared at that sink for a good while before I figured that out. Still not too sure which one's for hot water and which one's for cold water.

People really really like to buy items with red tags. Sure that means its on sale, but it doesn't make it inexpensive. I swear just about everyone bought either asparagus or strawberries today.

Downloaded some stuff yesterday..

DBSK - T (studio album)
DBSK - Two hearts / WILD SOUL (single)
DBSK - Runaway / My Girlfriend (single)
DBSK - If..!? / Rainy Night (single)
DBSK - Close to you / Crazy Life (single)
DBSK - Keyword / Maze (single)
Ayumi Hamasaki - Mirrorcle World (single)
Ayumi Hamasaki - A-yu-mi-x 6 -GOLD- (remix album)
Ayumi Hamasaki - A-yu-mi-x 6 -SILVER- (remix album)

A-yu-mi-x 6 -SILVER- seems to be remixes of slow songs, whereas -GOLD- is a remix of her more upbeat songs. They're still techno/trance remixes. -SILVER- sounds better, remixes of upbeat songs just gets a bit.. weird. Especially like "GAME x YOJI" and "part of me x CARL CRAIG" from -SILVER-.

I really really really like Mirrorcle world. Its like (well, it IS) the complete version of "Mirror" from her Guilty album. I liked "Mirror" so I like "Mirrorcle World" even more.

DBSK still sounds very.... DBSK-esque. Hate the DBSK version of "LAST ANGEL". It sounds better with Koda Kumi. I like "DARKNESS EYES" from T , it's like a fast ballad.. sad, but still kinda upbeat. Of all the DBSK solos, I like "Maze" (Jaejoong's solo) the most. It resembles gackt's style a lot, just with a higher voice. So yes, its punk rock- ish.

In other news, I got my official, paper, rejection letter from UCLA. It's actually exactly identical to what it said on the site. What a waste of trees.

Rubio's closes at 9! didn't know that. No tacos for me today.

I swear people give me weird looks when I wear bright red. One of these days I need to go out and buy some bright red bball shorts to match my bright red track jacket and my bright red shirt.
